Marble Falls is a peaceful and idyllic spot, perfect for the entire family.
Centrally located between Austin and San Antonio, in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Marble Falls makes an excellent, and convenient, holiday home base. A brilliant place to begin your tour of the area is downtown Marble Falls, which has an eclectic vibe and many restaurants and quaint shops. Enjoy a few of the several wineries or shop the Main Street district.
Highland Lakes
When you’re ready for a little lakeside adventure, head out of town and escape to the Highland Lakes area, a chain of six lakes, the largest chain in Texas. These stunning crystal-clear lakes offer outdoor activities, such as camping, swimming, scuba diving and fishing, for people of all ages. You can even try cliff jumping at Lake Buchanan.
The youngest of the Highland Lakes is Lake Marble Falls, a reservoir on the Colorado River, which covers 247 hectares and is stocked with several species of native fish. The lake is an ideal place for water recreation activities, including two of my favorites, kayaking and paddleboarding.

Longhorn Cavern State Park
For a unique look at the Texas landscape, stop by Longhorn Cavern State Park in Burnet County. It is believed that the limestone was deposited up to 500 million years ago on the floor of a shallow tropical sea. Another 150 million years passed before the cavern itself began to form. The river-carved caves have taken over a million years to form, truly a feat of nature! The caves remain at a constant 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year. It’s a great place to escape from the heat in the summer months. Guided cave tours are offered daily and last approximately one and a half hours.

Canyon of the Eagles
Make sure to visit aptly named Canyon of the Eagles, which is nestled in a 380-hectare private nature park. This is a prime birding spot, and there’s always a chance you’ll see the majestic American bald eagle. With more than 22 kilometers of hiking trails and nearly five kilometers of lakefront with a fishing pier and a boat dock, there’s plenty of wilderness to discover.
Why not treat yourself to a rejuvenating stay at the Canyon of the Eagles Resort on the north shore of Lake Buchanan, right in the heart of the nature reserve? You’ll get pampered in a picturesque setting while enjoying Texas’ famous Southern hospitality, which is second to none.

The Bluebonnets in Bloom
Those visiting in the spring will see an abundance of Texas bluebonnets, the beautiful blue flowers adopted as the state flower. This is the most commonly seen flower along roadsides and in uncultivated fields throughout Texas. The annual Burnet Bluebonnet Festival is held in April.
Be sure to include Marble Falls on your next U.S. holiday, and take home some wonderful memories and souvenirs of Hill Country.
